Tender description

The nine acute Trusts across the West Yorkshire and Harrogate and Humber, Coast and Vale Sustainability, and Transformation Plan (STP) footprints have formed a collaborative with the intention to utilise opportunities for optimising efficiency and value from a shared pharmacy supply chain from the point of ordering to the point the pharmacy product is available for use in clinical areas. The key design principles of the supply chain collaboration are to establish consolidated regional ‘hub’ and supply chain management function. The key design principles of the supply chain collaboration are to establish consolidated regional ‘hub’ and supply chain management function. The contract will cover the set-up and operation of a regional Pharmacy supply chain ‘hub’, broadly covering: — Warehousing and inventory management of Pharmaceutical supply to multiple NHS Trusts; — Receipt of product; — Appropriate handling and storage; — Outbound supply, assembled by demand point (typically a ward); — Provision and management of pharmacy automation within the scope of the ‘hub’ as appropriate; — Transport services to distribute products to the participating organisations; — Sub-contracting and operational management of related third party services; — Relevant Pharmaceutical supply chain services such as supporting forecasting, providing input to procurement processes, supporting the management of shortages/supply issues.
