University of Edinburgh invites competitive tenders for the supply of a High Pressure Freezer for cryo-electron microscopy sample preparation. This requirement is not divided into Lots due to the nature of the purchase being a single piece of equipment. This procurement will be conducted via the Public Contracts Scotland — Tender portal (PCS-T). We will apply a one stage Open procedure. Bidders must self-certify their adherence to the conditions of participation via the ESPD (Scotland) in PSC-T, and may be required to submit Means of Proof before contract award. Bidders must refer to the specific requirements listed in the Section III in this OJEU Contract Notice when completing the ESPD in PCS-T. The University of Edinburgh invites competitive tenders for supply, installation, initial training and technical services for a High-Pressure Freezer for the vitrification of soft and biological materials for imaging in separate cryo-FIB-SEM system. We intend to procure this equipment in order to rapidly vitrify and preserve the internal micro-structure of large samples (to depths 200 µm or more). These materials will include soft materials (e.g. colloidal suspensions, emulsions, surfactants and polymers) and biological systems. After high-pressure freezing, samples will be loaded into a Quorum PP3010T Cryo-stage for freeze fracturing, sputter coating and FIB-SEM imaging, and thus the sample holders must be compatible with this system. This equipment will be part of a shared, multi-user facility, and hence ease of use and the ability to freeze and sort multiple samples is highly desired.
