Tender description

The Met Office observations group require ultrasonic wind sensors to replace its current network. Predominately operating on a network of moored buoy platforms deployed in both in-shore and offshore locations around the United Kingdom and also in a small sub set of mountain sites. Both environments are subject to the most extreme conditions in our network. Strong winds, driving rain, salt water, ice, vibration and shock are part and parcel of the operational setting and therefore a robust wind sensor solution is sort. The purpose of this tender exercise is to select and award a framework contract with 1 supplier for an initial 3 years fixed term with the option to extend by 1 year.
