Regional Governance Programme 2017/18

Tender description

Four contracts were awarded for regional governance and trusteeship support from regions across the Further Education (FE) and skills sector. Last year, the Foundation funded a Regional Support Programme. This was mainly in the form of events to support governors and clerks in colleges, inductions for new board members, and five regional research projects. The regional programme demonstrated a wide degree of reach with representatives from 187 colleges with over 600 attendees. The research projects focused on Chairs peer review, board assurance frameworks and practice, the role of governors in a devolved world and effective monitoring of teaching learning and assessment in adult and continuing education. The outputs from these projects will be on the ETF Leadership Hub. This year, using the evaluation and feedback from last year's projects, the Foundation have continued with the regional fund, and sought for proposals that covered the following areas: (1) research, (2) high profile events and (3) a series of inductions for new governors. Tenderers were able to bid for one or all of these areas.
