Tender description
Warrington Borough Council’s ICT Service for Schools requires a fully automated, secure, remote backup and recovery service to protect Warrington’s schools data, storing it off-site daily to comply with government legislation. The service shall backup and restore schools administration and curriculum data, and data held in the latest supported versions of Capita SIMS and FMS systems. The contract shall be for an initial term of 13 months with the option to extend for another 3 x 12 months periods at the discretion of Council. The initial term includes a 1 month service transition from the legacy service to the new service to build up the retention period. The new service should be fully operational for all schools taking up the service by the 01 March 2018. The Council requires flexibility in pricing on a “pay-per-use” basis to address both reductions and increases in the number of participating schools with corresponding increases and reductions in the capacity of data to be backed up over the duration of the contract. It is the Council’s intention for all schools who receive the current remote backup service for schools to migrate and transition to the service. However, the Council does not guarantee that all schools will participate or that participating schools will take up the service for the duration of the contract. The Council will look to select the Provider offering the best value service based on price and the response to the specification available to those Providers who register and express an interest. To ensure that everything is logged and audited, only correspondence, questions and clarifications raised in the Chest will be addressed by the Council. The Council will not respond to any e-mails, letters or telephone calls regarding this opportunity. Keywords: Remote Backup
