Tender description

The purpose of the service is to provide the safe and reliable transportation of vulnerable children and young people, and on occasion their parents and/or carers, in a way that is sensitive to their particular needs and circumstances. Typically, journeys might facilitate: a parent attending a contact centre to meet their child who is in public care; a child leaving or returning a residential placement; or a refugee family being taken to emergency accommodation. The successful provider will establish and maintain a pool of volunteer drivers, to provide a door to door service; collecting vulnerable children and young people service users from their home or other agreed point of departure and taking them to a specific destination.
