Summary of the work We require a Data Architect/Analyst (as distinct from a Business Analyst) to: 1. Review, map existing data structures 2. Document user needs 3. Review existing and planned data standards 4. Build knowledge of the existing logic structure for data 5. Rationalise and design a new/revised data architecture. Specialist role Business analyst Expected Contract Length 3 months Latest start date Monday 18 December 2017 Maximum Day Rate Maximum day rate £600 (ex VAT, excludes expenses). Reasonable (and prior-agreed) travel to other Agency offices will be paid Early Market Engagement Limited early market engagement carried out to confirm and refine the scope of work. Who Speclialist Work With You will work with data architects and business analysts as part of an established programme. What Specialists Work On Working towards a major upgrade of one of our key Operational Management Asset systems: 1. Review and map existing data structures 2. Understand and document user needs 3. Review existing and planned data standards 4. Build a knowledge of the existing logic structure for data 5. Rationalise and design a new/revised data architecture. Skills & Experience • • Wide knowledge of data related issues, spatial and non-spatial data • • Asset management processes in the environmental sector • • Developing and applying data standards • • Using Sparks enterprise software package (EA standard). • • Using conceptual high-level data flow maps • • Developing, updating and quality assuring detailed data flow maps Nice to Haves • • Experience of linked data solutions in the public sector • • Asset management in the utilities and infrastructure sectors. Work Location Mainly Bristol (BS1) with some visits to central London (SW1P). Working Arrangments The requirement is to work in Bristol/Reading 3 days/week, with the balance of time in London up to March-end. Some remote working will be possible. Can you please confirm whether this would be 3 days per week in Bristol AND 2 days per week in London OR 3 Days per week across both locations? M4 corridor based, with at least 3 days in one of our offices in Bristol, Reading or London 2. Will travel expenses to London to covered by the Environment Agency or will the contractor have to pay for them? Reasonable train travel expenses will be paid, in agreement with the supplier 3. Can the contractor's main based be either Bristol or Reading? Yes
