Tender description

The C17 Command Support Airborne Equipment Project Team (C17CSAE PT) as part of the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) has a requirement for the provision of Repair and Maintenance to the High Altitude Parachutists' Life Support System (HAPLSS). The Authority intends to award a new contract up to the value of £592,000 (ex VAT) to RFD Beaufort Limited (RFD), using the negotiated procedure without prior publication of a Contract Notice pursuant to Article 28(1)(e) of Directive 2009/81/EC (Regulation 16(1)(a)(ii) of the Defence and Security Public Contracts Regulations 2011) for technical reasons. It is intended that this contract is let until 31 March 2018. RFD is the only economic operator with the necessary technical know-how, proprietary processes, equipment specific tooling and test equipment of HAPLSS that is approved for high altitude parachute training, exercises and operations.
