Event Management of the Hackney Carnival 2018

Tender description

The London Borough of Hackney is planning a vibrant and inclusive carnival to take place in September 2018 (provisional date 9th September). We are currently seeking event management services to deliver project management and operational delivery of the carnival. The event typically provides carnival groups with the opportunity to showcase their talents in front of 30,000 on-lookers throughout the day, from 12noon - 8pm. It involves a 3 mile procession route for 1000 performers and their floats, four static sound systems, live stages, play areas and stalls. The commissioned organisation will be responsible for ensuring that the event is developed in close partnership with all necessary authorities, council services and relevant external agencies, to ensure that the event is safe and well managed for all involved, and that it causes minimum disruption for the rest of the borough's population. The commissioned organisation will also work closely with the appointed Creative Director, who will be responsible for the creative programming of the event. This close working relationship will ensure that the requirements of the performers will be incorporated into the operational plans and equally, that the performers will be fully aware of what is required of them from a safety perspective.
