Construction work for buildings relating to education and research

Tender description

Following an Army Basing Review undertaken by the Ministry of Defence (MOD) in March 2003, it has been decided by the MOD that the Brigade Headquarters of the British Army Reaction Force is to be relocated to the Salisbury Plain Training Area with 3 Armoured Infantry Brigades. As a consequence, an additional 4 000 military personnel and their families will be relocated to Tidworth, Ludgershall, Bulford and Larkhill. Within the Ludgershall area, it has been identified that there is a need for the development of a new two form entry primary school including a thirty-place nursery to be located on a circa 2.3-hectare parcel of land provided by the MOD via a Section 106 Agreement within the site of the former Corruna Barracks in Ludgershall. The requirement is that the new school and nursery is operationally ready to accept pupils by September 2019 which is the purpose of this tender opportunity. The Tender comprises 2 stages: Tender Stage 1 Selection Stage (this stage) Tender Stage 2 Wiltshire council intends to shortlist 5 contractors achieving the highest score achieved from PAS91/Selection questionnaire. Prospective Contractors should also note that the Council's intent is that the proposed school is to be built using traditional construction methods not modular or other forms of off-site construction and only submissions from organisations delivering traditional forms of construction will be considered.
