Career and Competency Framework for Older People’s Mental Health Services

Health Education England is a world leader in healthcare education, training and workforce development. We are strongly committed to supporting the current and future mental health workforce to ensure that people have access to high quality, well trained staff when and where they need them. Part of this work has involved developing core competency frameworks to ensure all staff have a consistent set of skills and knowledge across settings. These frameworks act not only as a source of support for staff to help inform their professional development, they are also a tool for employers to ensure their staff are working to their potential and have a consistent standard of skills and knowledge.
