Tender description

A conversation with Commissioner on CAMBRIDGESHIRE AND PETERBOROUGH'S APPROPRIATE ADULT SERVICES FOR CHILDREN AND VULNERABLE ADULTS IN CUSTODY AND REPARATION SERVICES 28th November 2018 at Stanton House, Stanton Way, Huntingdon PE29 6XL from 13:30 to 15:30 pm Commissioners believe that every child and vulnerable adult detained or interviewed by the police should have their rights and welfare safeguarded by an appropriate adult. With this in mind, Cambridgeshire County Council, Peterborough City Council, Cambridgeshire Constabulary and the Office of Police Crime Commissioner are working together to jointly commission two services for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. These two services are: 1. The Appropriate Adult Service for children and Vulnerable Adults in custody and 2. Reparation Services for young people involved in offending. Commissioners are proposing to rationalise two contracts and an in house service that currently deliver both services into one contract. At the same time and following a pilot on delivering Appropriate Adult services out of hours, Commissioners wish to see a 24 hour, seven days a week Appropriate Adult services to children and vulnerable adults in custody. Commissioners are planning for this new services to start in August 18. In preparing for the tender process, Commissioners would welcome discussions with providers on: 1. Organisations experiences of delivering these services and services models used that are effective and efficient. 2. The scale of the proposed contract in terms of geography across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, age ranges, and operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week. 3. Realistic service outcomes and proportionate performance measures that are achievable in the life of a four year contact. 4. Any immediate challenges or risks in delivering this service and how we can work together to mitigate them. If your organisation would like to meet Commissioners to discuss these questions and hear more about what is being proposed, then please RSVP helen.andrews@cambridgeshire.gov.uk with the names of people of attending. We look forward to meeting you soon.
