Tender description

The Avoca former mining area is located in the eastern foothills of the Wicklow Mountains, around 55 kilometres south of Dublin. The former mining area includes the East and West Avoca mining areas spread across a number of townlands including Connary, Cronebane, Tigroney West, Tigroney East, Ballymurtagh and Ballygahan and divided by the Avoca River. In October 2016, a survey of invasive species was undertaken across the site. Incidents of amongst others, Japanese Knotweed, Himalayan Knotweed and Buddleia were identified. A request to tender (RFT) has been prepared to seek a contractor to treat the infestation.
