the provision of Minor Roadworks on Poleberry Link Road

Tender description

Poleberry Link Road joins the R680 (Manor St) in Waterford City at Railway square. The works on Poleberry Link Road commence approximately 65m form this junction. The roadworks are required on 255m of Poleberry Link Road and 50m on Bath St. The works are required to facilitate the following plans for Waterford City Centre Green Route: • All traffic travelling west bound on the R680 will be diverted at Railway Square onto Poleberry Link road. • Poleberry Link Road is to become one way with two lanes travelling in a western direction. • The existing pavement requires a 100mm overlay to accommodate the increase in traffic flows. A broad description of the works that are required are set out below;  Construction of a cast insitu kerb and footpath to suit the proposed pavement levels.  Setting out of the works  Paving sets to be installed to replace existing outside TK Max and other private properties  Installation of Tactile paving  Installing sockets for public lighting, ducts for ESB, lighting and signals, chambers and raising existing ironworks  Bituminous bound materials – to be supplied by others  Liaison with other contractors to agree tie in levels, manage site access and to ensure traffic management is coordinated.  The contractor must be in a position to supply the material, manpower and plant to complete the project within an agreed time frame as specified in the instructions to tenderer (ITT). The Contractor is required to act as and to carry out the duties of Project Supervisor Construction Stage (PSCS) in accordance with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013 (the ‘Regulations’) or any amendment thereof effective at the time of the Contract.
