Tender description

NPL requires a Mobility Particle Size Spectrometer which can produce particle size spectra in the range 10 nm – 1000 nm. This must be able to both positively and negatively charge particles and have both radioactive and non-radioactive neutraliser options. The instrument should be compliant with CEN TS 16976. The MPSS system is vital for the majority of work in the Nanoparticle Laboratory at NPL. This system is used in our UKAS accredited Condensation Particle Counter calibration service. The instrument we require is the next generation in MPSS systems. This instrument will support the building of an MPSS calibration system towards accreditation. This new instrument will also allow NPL to move into the medical aerosol area where charge distribution is an important factor in drug delivery.
