Tender description

On behalf of the Nottinghamshire Transforming Care Partnership, the Authority sought an organisation included on the Dynamic Provider list for Learning Disability to provide two beds in a registered care home setting, available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, for 1 year. The pilot service will offer an alternative to hospital to enable individuals with learning disabilities and/or autism, at risk of placement breakdown, to remain in the community and in some cases enable carers and support workers to have a break before they recommence caring. The Service is for individuals aged 16+ years on Nottinghamshire's register of people with learning disabilities and/or autism ‘at risk of admission to hospital’ and subject to either the Care and Treatment Review (CTR) process or a Local Area Emergency Protocol review (i.e. when there is no time to convene a CTR). The core role of the Service is to provide a safe, reliable response when a person does not have a clear alternative. It is intended to be a temporary and short term service so will have a high turnover of service users. The Service will provide 2 beds in a registered care home setting, which may or may not be co-located, with security arrangements in line with Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
