Tender description
This is a prior information notice (PIN) to advertise an early market engagement only. Publication and call for competition will be conducted once scope of work is fully defined and approved by the uk government. Somalia Humanitarian and Resilience Programme (SHARP) will focus on humanitarian action and reform in Somalia, to deliver cost effective and mutually-reinforcing assistance to the most vulnerable people in Somalia. It will promote household and community resilience and, over time, reduce the number of people in extreme need of humanitarian support. This is a prior information notice (PIN) to advertise an early market engagement only. Publication and call for competition will be conducted once scope of work is fully defined and approved by the UK Government. This 4-year programme focuses investment in preventive and therapeutic nutritional programming, food assistance (mainly through cash), provision of clean water, durable solutions for the displaced and enhanced innovative monitoring systems. The aim is to: — Support up to 1 000 000 people (annually) with humanitarian support that responds to the needs of those affected by conflict and other shocks; — Support the sustainable return and resettlement of up to 100 000 returnees and IDPs (total); — Treat up to 150 000 malnourished individuals (annually) — children under five and pregnant and lactating women; — Provide access to safe drinking water for up to 1 000 000 individuals (total). DFID will be conducting an Early Market Engagement (EME) event on 17.11.2017 in Nairobi. Through this Early Market Engagement (EME) DFID Somalia aims to assess the interest and capability of potential suppliers / partners interested and engaged in Durable Solutions (DS) Initiatives. The EME is unrestricted and open to multilaterals, NGO's and Private Companies. The route to market is not yet known. The EME process aims to promote discussion between interested parties and DFID in how approaches for DS can be improved, better value for money achieved, innovation harnessed and opportunities for collaboration amongst partners.
