Tender description

Royal Borough of Greenwich has recently purchased a number of buildings in Woolwich in what is intended to be a new Cultural Quarter. An anchor tenant has been identified and it has been agreed that buildings 17 and 19 would be developed from a shell and core perspective to allow the tenant to occupy with a view to commencing their fit out works by the end of 2018. The subsequent buildings would be completed as soon as possible after this date. A feasibility study proposed that the buildings be split into performance space, museum space and supporting workshops, studios, offices and catering facilities. The decision to redevelop the site is in the process of being confirmed and the Council is preparing to proceed with this development subject to final approval. The first step in this process is the procurement of an architect-led design team to lead the development of the design. Consequently, the Royal Borough is inviting tenders for the provision of architect-led design team to lead the development of the design. The contract is for a period of 3 years, with the Council having an option to extend for a further period of up to one (1) year. The estimated value of this contract is £4m.
