Tender description

This tender will comprise of 2 lots. For Lot 1 UWE is seeking a supplier to provide a modern and future proof system that will record a student's attendance within a location or event. For Lot 2 UWE is seeking a supplier to provide a Learner Analytics Solution in order to review and analyse student engagement/behaviour. The system will incorporate an algorithm(s), which will provide the capability to analyse data from multiple named sources and reliably provide reports highlighting risks with student engagement and vulnerability with the aim of improving student experience and retention across the university. For Lot 1 The University of the West of England (UWE Bristol) is seeking a supplier to provide a modern and future proof system that will record a student's attendance within a location or event. This system will be as automated as possible and will work for both timetabled and non-timetabled sessions/events. Interested suppliers must be able to provide both hardware and the application/software required for students to interact/register attendance. Ideally, the solution would be proven within the HE Sector and the preferred hosting method for the solution would be Software-as-a-Service, with the University retaining ownership and hosting of the data used in the analytics where possible, except for the purposes of analysis and processing. For Lot 2 The University of the West of England (UWE Bristol) is seeking a supplier to provide a Learner Analytics Solution in order to review and analyse student engagement/behaviour. The initial objective would be to use Attendance Recording, Virtual Learning Environment usage and Coursework Submission data as primary indicators within the algorithm, but allow for integration with other student systems data sets as required. The resulting information should be supported by user interface functionality appropriate to students and staff. Ideally, the solution would be proven within the HE Sector and the preferred hosting method for the solution would be Software-as-a-Service, with the University retaining ownership and hosting of the data used in the analytics where possible, except for the purposes of analysis and processing.
