Tender description

South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (the Authority) is seeking to procure NHS 111 and NHS Integrated Urgent Care Contingency Support Services (the Services) from a single Sub-Contractor for a contract commencing on 1 September 2018 for a period of three years with the option to extend the contract by up to two years in one year increments. The Services will be based on the Integrated Care Commissioning Standards published in September 2015, to deliver to the public and healthcare professionals a single point of telephony access to urgent care, alongside their registered GP and affording the Authority the ability to coordinate urgent care intervention through the NHS 111 service, the Clinical Hub and an Out of Hours telephony and appointment service. The scope of the Service is to provide a managed service comprising call centre agents (Health Advisers), Nurse Advisors and supervisory staff for the duration of the Contract housed within the Sub-contractor's Call Centre. South Central Ambulance Trust NHS Foundation Trust (the Authority) is a leading provider of NHS 111 and NHS 111 IUC Services. The Authority was awarded the first ever NHS 111 contract commissioned in England in 2012 and has continued to extend and provide such services ever since, currently providing services for the Thames Valley and Hampshire. We are currently in the process of responding to the changing national and local commissioning standards for NHS 111 IUC Services. Our success as a leading provider in the NHS 111 and future NHS 111 IUC market in part includes having an excellent record for maintaining contingency support arrangements with suitably qualified providers. Interested providers must be CQC registered and have existing capabilities in the following areas: — A proven organisational and management structure and systems to meet the complete Support Service responsibilities. — A fully trained NHS Pathways competent workforce i.e. both NHS Pathways trained clinicians and call handler staff. — NHS Pathways accredited Trainers and auditors to meet trainer, coaching and monthly audit requirements. — Call Centre infrastructure with resilient telephony capabilities, preferably using a virtualised telephony network. — ITK compliant, delivery of dual N3 and fibre connectivity and a technical solution that can integrate with the Authority's Adastra platform. — Ongoing ‘in house’ NHS Pathways and statutory/mandatory training capabilities. — Clinical Governance team to meet national IUC/111 requirements for ensuring safety, quality, reporting, complaints process etc.
