The Defence Equipment and Support Special Projects Communications and Force Protection Delivery Team (DE&S SPCFP DT) will be hosting an Industry Briefing to deliver a high level overview of the next generation Force Protection Electronic Countermeasure (FP ECM) project on 1.12.2017 at Conference Hall, Technology School, Shrivenham, commencing at 10:00. The project aims to deliver a replacement FP ECM capability in the Land domain in order to ensure UK service personnel are protected from the threat posed by explosive ordnance initiated using the Electromagnetic Environment (EME) as a command mechanism (including Remote Controlled Improvised Explosive Devices (RCIEDs)). This briefing aims to: ‘furnish industry with sufficient information to identify options on how DE&S could deliver the next generation FP ECM capability throughout the CADMID cycle with a focus on the Concept and Assessment Phases of the project. The briefing will be delivered by; the project sponsor Joint Forces Command Capability Special Projects (JFC Cap SP), the Senior User (Army HQ) and SPCFP DT. As such it will offer Industry a unique insight into the project and opportunity to provide input, without commitment, at the project initiation stage. Industry attendees will be invited to complete a word limited questionnaire as an output to the briefing. Completed questionnaires will be used to assist with DE&S decision making only. The Authority, have no commitment to act on information provided. The project is currently funded for the Concept and Assessment Phase only.
