Tender description

Wakefield Council has developed a new model of provision for Housing Related Support, designed around: * Identifying the right services for people the first time. * Delivering long term solutions to a person's homelessness, with as few transitions as possible. * A Make Every Adult Matter (MEAM) approach — offering coordinated interventions that respond flexibly to meet assessed need. * A focus on harm reduction, recovery, resilience and independence; and * Promoting positive approaches to health and wellbeing. A procurement process has already taken place for the Assessment Pathway, Access to Housing Pathway — Main Provision and the Housing Sustainment Pathway. This procurement is for 2 of the Access to Housing — Specialist Provision. The 2 services include; Young Families Service; and Supported Housing for People with Mental Health Needs. Key aims of the Service will be: — To improve the life chances of young parents and to enhance the relationships between the parents and their children. — To promote young parents independent living skills and increase their ability to manage and maintain a tenancy. — To create opportunities for change and progression. — To promote positive approaches to health and wellbeing. The Service will provide 4 units of accommodation for teenage mothers and a floating support service for 32 young families (including mothers and fathers). Key aims of the Service will be: — To promote recovery and support people to build confidence and resilience. — To promote independent living skills and increase the service user's ability to manage and maintain a tenancy. — To address barriers to gaining a tenancy. — To promote positive approaches to health and wellbeing. — To promote opportunities for training, employment and volunteering. The service will support people living in 12 units of accommodation at Woodside and Woodview in Normanton.
