Tender description

***REVISED REQUIREMENT*** To clear fell and extract timber from approximately 1.3 ha of mainly deciduous plantation woodland adjacent to Hawes Water lake situated within Gait Barrows NNR and thin a further 0.5 ha. The removal of the wood will allow the restoration of two rare SAC priority habitats (marl grassland and alkaline fen) and reconnect the grasslands/fens on the lake edge to the adjacent grazed pastures helping to improve their condition and prevent the encroachment of scrub. The clear felled area will also be grazed to create additional open habitat. Tree removal will restore vistas of the lake from the eastern and northern approaches to improve the visitor experience.
