Tender description

Kirklees Council are looking for suppliers to provide Tyres, Tubes and Ancillary Management Services for around 864 vehicles within its fleet and 165 items of plant/trailers. The Council operates a twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) day a week, three hundred and sixty-five (365) days a year service and the Supplier would be expected to maintain a tyre repair service when called upon to do so at any UK location on a 24 2 / 5 (24) hour basis. All the tyre fitters. The Council of the Borough of Kirklees (the ‘Council’) carries out its vehicle maintenance program at the main two (2) workshops situated at George Street Dewsbury and Vine Street Huddersfield. The Council also operates depots at Reins Road, Honley and Mayman Lane Batley. The Supplier will be expected to attend to puncture repairs and tyre replacements at any of the above or any other location identified. The Supplier must also hold sufficient numbers and required range of tyres and wheels to ensure that it fully meets its obligations in the performance of the Agreement. The Council operates a twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) day a week, three hundred and sixty-five (365) days a year service and the Supplier would be expected to maintain a tyre repair service when called upon to do so at any UK location on a twenty-four (24) hour basis. All the tyre fitters are required to have a suitable vehicle (fully equipped) at their disposal for all aspects of mobile repairs. The Supplier is to provide a single telephone number for twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) day a week, three hundred and sixty-five (365) days a year call-outs for Out of Service Time Repairs and must also be able to attend tyre replacement or punctures at any UK location on a twenty-four (24) hour basis to carry out any tyre repair (this maybe subcontracted with prior approval). The Council has approximately eight hundred and sixty-four (864) vehicles and one hundred and sixty-five (165) items of plant/trailers.
