supply and installation of external floodlighting on Oberstown campus

Tender description

The Irish Youth Justice Service (IYJS), an office of the Department of Children and Youth Affairs, is responsible for the Oberstown Children Detention Campus which is located in Lusk, North Co. Dublin. IYJS is seeking a contractor to design and install 25 no. high level external flood lights that will provide sufficient level of light for secure area between back of the residential units and perimeter fence. (see drawing enclosed).Lights to be mounted on the perimeter walls of existing buildings (Units 5-10 and Store) (see enclosed drawing). Brackets to be supplied and installed that will allow adjustment to light angle if necessary to achieve optimal lighting uniformity. Distances from the building to the fence range from 26m to 60m, therefore 25 no. powerful LED floodlights are required with a high lumen output to achieve 30 lux with a uniformity of 0.6. Light fitting should be installed with robust protective grilles/cages (steel). Lights to be installed at height of 5-6m. (8-9 no of lights on Units 5-7, 8-9 no of Unit 8-10 and 7 no of Store Building - depending on design) Cables to be cabled along building facade as per existing cabling. Type of cable will be for contractor to decide based on distances and required voltage. (Distances on the drawing.) All lights fitted on Units 5-10 to be controlled from one location (Central Building), Maintenance Store to be controlled locally. Works would require cables to run through all buildings, connect two pods together and with Central building. Alterations to 5 no. distribution boards (located in central part of units attics) to suit switching lights by a Contractor on the 5 no. blocks.
