Tender description
2.0 SPECIFICATION 2.1 An existing Latchways ManSafe system covers limited areas of Penrith Leisure Centre, specifically the single storey roof around the Atrium, the roof of the Sports Hall, and the stepped roof of the Indoor Bowls hall. 2.2 The tender requires: ? the extension of the existing Latchways ManSafe system in those areas already provided with a partial system; ? the extension of the existing Latchways ManSafe system to all areas of Penrith Leisure Centre not currently provided with any fall restraint systems (including the Swimming Pool roof, single storey roofs over wet-side Changing Village and dry-side Changing Rooms, and two storey roof over first floor Clubroom/Plantroom); ? the installation of rooflight guards over 3no existing rooflights on the Climbing Wall roof. ? the extensions to the existing Latchways ManSafe system to be fully compatible with that existing system: all products installed must be equal to Latchways ManSafe specifications (https://www.latchways.com/standard-specifications); ? all products to be installed by fully trained and competent persons; ? the existing roofs to be left in a safe and watertight condition upon completion of the works. 2.3 The tenderers must make themselves fully acquainted with existing systems; existing forms of construction; access arrangements; health & safety implications for the general public, Leisure Centre operatives, and the tenderers own workforce; and any other relevant restrictions, legislation etc prior to tender submission. Arrangements for site access should be made via the Chest (www.the-chest.org.uk) prior to the submission deadline 2.4 The construction and finishes of the existing roof areas is described as follows: 2.4.1 Kingspan profiled composite insulated roof panels in areas where the Latchways ManSafe system is already installed; 2.4.2 ‘Firestone EPDM’ membrane on insulation on structural timber decking over main pool hall; 2.4.3 ‘Sarnafil’ single ply polymeric membrane on insulation on timber boarding on timber joists to all other flat roof areas; If required, bidders are encouraged to request clarification via the Chest (www.the-chest.org.uk) prior to the submission deadline.
