Tender description

The purpose of this PIN is to give advance notice that the Trust is looking to go out to tender for a provider/s capable of providing funeral services along with body storage and ability to transfer bodies between sites as necessary. The purpose of the PIN is also to request suppliers complete a Pre Market Engagement Questionnaire to assist the Trust in understanding supplier's ability to provide all or part of these services and would like to draw on the expertise of providers to understand how best to gain information from the market prior to producing a specification and going out to tender. The Trust is looking to procure a provider/s capable of providing funeral services in accordance with the Trusts requirements, in consultation with the Trusts chaplains, bereavement officers or other nominated officer. There is also a requirement for transport of bodies from all other Trust sites to North Tyneside General Hospital (NTGH) in order for post mortems to be performed and occasionally forensic post mortems at The Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI), in Newcastle upon Tyne. There is also a requirement for storage of bodies in the north of the region covered by the Trust, where onsite mortuaries are not available, which would include removal from site, provision of correct storage, allowing for the undertaker of choice to collect and if required transport for post mortem.
