Tender description
This Requests for Information (RFI) advert is a follow-up to the initial market survey sought under Prior Information Notice (PIN) Ref 254178-2015 and addendum 161660-2015 published in July and August 2015 respectively. As it is over 2 years since the last industry engagement UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) are seeking a second market survey through a RFI to update and inform its acquisition strategy as well as identifying any changes to potential products in the market. MOD has a Category B possible future requirement to deliver a Future All Terrain Vehicle (FATV) to replace the BV206 platform. MOD are seeking existing products that are already in-service or production ready that can be adopted to fulfill the UK role. FATV requirement is to provide a robust, easily supportable system comprising several variants that can operate in diverse climatic and topographical conditions worldwide, in order to support and contribute to littoral and land manoeuvre operations. In meeting this role the platform will be required to have armour protection, an ability to swim and have extreme mobility over terrain such as deep snow and marsh land. The purpose of this PIN is to alert the market to the potential future requirement and is not a formal request for Expression of Interest (EoI). A competitive Contract Notice and dynamic PQQ is planned to be issued in Q4 2018 to request EoIs which will reference this PIN. Issue of the PIN and participation thereof is solely on a non-commitment basis. This exercise is not a launch of a formal procurement procedure, nor does it represent a commitment by MOD to launch any formal procurement procedure. This advert is published in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) in accordance with Regulation 14 of the Defence and Security Public Contract Regulations and the MOD Defence Contracts Bulletin. Participants must read through this set of instructions and follow the process to respond to this opportunity. Potential participants should note that this RFI is aimed at vehicle platform manufacturers and would not be appropriate for sub-system vendors in the supply chain.
