Provide a public mortuary within the Coroner's jurisdictional area where bodies can be stored and accessed as is deemed appropriate for the effective running of the Coroners service. The mortuary should be appropriately equipped and able to meet anticipated demand. Included in the provision of the above is the provision of a reliable and timely body transportation service between Stepping Hill Hospital and Tameside General Hospital or another location as required by the Coroner. It is essential that bodies be transported as a result of an instruction that is issued up to 16:00 Mon-Fri, to ensure post mortems can be completed in a timely manner.
