Tender description

As the Entrusted Entity for implementing the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S), ECMWF will issue an Invitation to Tender (ITT) for the definition and the delivery of an operational climate service addressing the climate data needs of the biodiversity community. There is ample evidence that climate change affects biodiversity. According to the Millennium Ecosystem Assessment, climate change is likely to become one of the most significant drivers of biodiversity loss by the end of the century. Human activities have already resulted in the loss of biodiversity and thus may have affected goods and services crucial for human well-being. The service sought under this ITT will define, in collaboration with the target user community, a number of climate change indicators which are currently either unavailable or not readily accessible. The successful bidder will make these indicators available through an operational demonstrator which will build upon the Climate Data Store infrastructure (https://www.ecmwf.int/en/newsletter/151/meteorology/climate-service-develops-user-friendly-data-store ) using only the climate data available there. Framework Agreement duration is 18 months.
