Tender description

In order to fulfil the significant programme of new electrification work Network Rail (NR) has developed a single TSI compliant OCS design range to be used on all future 25kV AC electrification schemes going forward. This design range known as ‘The UK Master Series’ has been developed from an integration of NR-Series 1 and NR-Series 2 components currently used on the Great Western and North West electrification schemes. Network Rail (NR) requires the manufacture and supply of tensioning systems to be included in the UK Master Series OCS design range, in order to meet the needs of its internal and external customers for the works mentioned above. The purpose of Tensioning Systems is to maintain constant mechanical tension to the main conductors of the overhead contact system throughout its design temperature range. Tenderers will be required to supply different types of Tensioning Systems to suit NR's existing and proposed new electrification using the Master Series OCS design.
