Health Services Executive (HSE) at University Hospital Limerick (UHL) (CUH) invites competent economic operators (EOs) to present their product and services to the Histopathology staff at UHL for the provision of a managed level service (MLS) of Histopathology devices, related consumables and the associated service provisions for the above mentioned sites including: — all devices and instruments — all components and accessories; — the supply of all consumables and quality assurance materials; — the provision of ongoing staff training, service and support for the duration of the contract. — ICT systems The purpose of the exercise to offer competent economic operators the opportunity to inform the technical elements of a user requirements specification for a proposed tender competition which may be published in early/middle of 2018. Histopathology at UHL has a workload of 22 000 Histopathology samples per annum and 25 Clinical, Clerical and Scientific staff. Histopathology, UHL MLS will include Histopathology equipment, reagents and consumables required for Specimen Containers, Tissue Fixation, Processing, Embedding, Microtomy, H&E Staining, Special Stains, Immunohistochemistry, HER2 molecular examinations, Microscopy and Digital Pathology as well as an overall specimen tracking solution. It is envisaged that the MLS will enable Histopathology at UHL to use the principles of lean technology to move from batch to continuous processing of samples. Replacement of existing equipment must enable Histopathology to change from manual to automated processes while demonstrating continuous quality improvement, enhancing the Histopathology service provided to the patients of UL Hospitals Group. The uninterrupted processing of the daily workload is critical to the effective operation of the service. Proposed solution should detail contingency for each stage of the specimen pathway to ensure resilience to deal with unexpected equipment downtime so as to allow the continued.
