Tender description
This procurement seeks to implement a solution that delivers a consistent approach to recording risk data and sharing of people and premises based information to provide a more coordinated service to our customers across our prevention and protection services. Kent and Medway Towns Fire Authority provide prevention and protection services to the population of Kent which includes the following elements: — Community Safety; — Technical Fire Safety; — Operational Planning; — Operational Response. Each area collects, as part of their day to day work, a variety of information that could be useful to crews attending an incident. Currently not all this information is available in a format that is quick and easy for them to access. Business areas are supported by a number of different systems. There is no consistent way to record risk data and the sharing of premises and people based information to provide a more coordinated service to our customers is difficult. All systems are currently hosted and supported in-house. This Prior Information Notice is to inform the market that Kent and Medway Towns Fire Authority are planning to undertake a procurement process to implement a solution that will meet the following aims of the project: — Agree a core set of risk data across all the business areas which can be delivered to operational crews called out to an incident. — Improve the sharing of data across business areas to give a more complete picture of all our interactions with customers and the buildings in the County. — Simplify some of the overly complex procedures being used in some business areas. — Implement mobile working to improve the collection and input of business data. — Improve the relevance, accuracy and usefulness of the data collected and used in all the business areas. — Improve the resilience of our development and support capability via a third party hosted solution, which also provides expertise to help evolve the solution moving forwards. The Authority plans to hold a supplier engagement event to present a more detailed overview of our project aims and objectives and to seek industry expertise and feedback. The event is scheduled to take place on the 17.11.2017. Full details of the event and all associated communications shall be managed using the Kent Business Portal and any interested suppliers are encouraged to register on the Portal to ensure that they are notified of any updates.
