Tender description

Loughborough University (subsequently called the University) wishes to: Refresh the VM (Virtual Machine) compute infrastructure; Add additional live storage capacity; Add additional backup storage capacity (disc based); Add additional network switches and licenses, and; To provide a pair of Business Continuity VM hosts. This infrastructure underpins circa 600 virtual servers, all general file store, and backup services for the whole University. The University intends to purchase a storage solution to meet the projected performance and capacity requirements of 12 % compound growth per annum for the next 5 years. The strategic objective is to replace and augment infrastructure which can be managed by current tools and with current expertise; ensuring a high level of availability. The tender requirement is primarily for: Equipment, maintenance, and support; installation and design services are not required.
