Tender description

Coventry University is seeking an experienced design and build contractor to work with us to construct a second Engineering and Computing Building. The project comprises the construction of a new 4 storey, circa 5 366 m2 GIA building to accommodate the Faculty of Engineering, Environment and Computing on an existing car park. The contractor will be selected through a Single Stage Tender for a Design and Build Contract. Coventry University will require the successful Tenderer to enter into a JCT Design and Build Contract 2016 with Amendments. Coventry University's design team will not be novated but will remain in a Client Compliance Monitoring role. The project comprises of the following high level activities: — Site clearance and earthworks to the existing car park; — Piled foundations; — Steel frame and pre-cast concrete superstructure; — Facade and roofing; — Bridge link to the existing ECB1; — Internal fit out; — Installation of loose furniture and AV equipment; — Installation and commissioning of building services; — External works including soft and hard landscaping; — Minor alterations and refurbishment works to the residual car park.
