Summary of the work BEIS require a Lead Technical Architect to provide technical leadership to the development team. The aim is to create digital services that support grant applications, assessments and on-going monitoring. This is in Beta phase and so any subsequent phases will require a Digital Service Standard assessment and GDS Spend approval. Specialist role Technical Architect Expected Contract Length 3 months with the option to extend for up to an additional 3 months Latest start date Monday 9 October 2017 Maximum Day Rate £800 Who Speclialist Work With Service Manager, Product Manager, Delivery Manager, Developer, Apprentice Developer, User Researcher/Business Analyst What Specialists Work On BEIS require a Lead Technical Architect to work on a Beta phase digital grant application service. The Technical Architect will be required to: • Provide technical leadership and consultancy to development team, ensuring infrastructure is fit for purpose, whilst meeting time and budget constraints. • Provide solution architecture options appraisals and solution development for all line of business applications across the departmental pipeline. • The specialist must also be able to act as a technical assessor on Digital Service Standard assessments. Is there any travel involved in this role and will the travel expenses be paid? There is no travel required for this role. No travel expenses will be paid. 13. Is the rate inclusive or exclusive of VAT? The day rate is exclusive of VAT. 14. Would you consider work permit holders (e.g. Tier 2 General Visa) and EU passport holders for this role ? We will consider all applicants who are permitted to work in the UK. 15. 1. Regarding the BPSS clearance status, if the candidate does not hold active BPSS clearance and is willing to go through the process, can this be considered, if yes will you sponsor the security clearance 2. Can any other higher security clearance be considered? 1. Owing to timelines the candidate must be able to start work with all security checks completed on the advertised start date. We will consider applicants who do not hold active clearance provided their application is underway. We will not sponsor the security clearance.2. Yes, the BPSS is the minimum. We will accept SC and other higher levels of clearance.
