Tender description

We seek to acquire one infrared microscope. The system will ideally be able to do photoluminescence measurements and ideally be future proof enough for measurement capabilities to be expanded in the future, e.g. to have a focal plane array detector added, additional measurement modes etc. The system will be used to analyse the structure of 2D nanomaterials, polymers, metals, composites and carbon-based materials, including polyaramids, PEEK, carbon fibre, graphite, nanotubes and graphene. The system will also be used to study the effect of environment, including strain, on these samples. Therefore it is important to have a high absolute and relative resolution of peak position and shape with a low signal to noise ratio. We also need the ability to place custom rigs into the system for in-situ measurements. This system will be used for both academic research and industrial research & development and quality control etc. Please refer to procurement documents.
