Summary of the work Specialist required to work in the data migration team to identify source data requirements, assess data quality, map and specify the required transformations from the source to the target data, validate and perform trial data migration in production, cleanse data, and conduct a post implementation review of the data migration. Specialist role Developer Expected Contract Length Up to 2 years (24 months) Latest start date Wednesday 15 November 2017 Who Speclialist Work With Specialist will be part of data architecture team working closely with the Enterprise Data Architect. Specialist will be required to work with multiple development teams and existing vendor to understand legacy and new data structures. What Specialists Work On Specialist required to work in the data migration team to identify source data requirements, assess data quality, map and specify the required transformations from the source to the target data, validate and perform trial data migration in production, cleanse data, and conduct a post implementation review of the data migration. Skills & Experience • Demonstrable experience of successfully designing and implementing data migration, data transformation, data quality, modelling, testing and post production reviews from Oracle to a Big Data or another relational database. • Have demonstrable experience of successfully implement Oracle Advance Security and manage personal and/or sensitive information with appropriate controls and protection. • Demonstrable experience of Backup and Recovery techniques& using Oracle Administration& Oracle RMAN, Oracle Flashback and other methods, including Patching & upgrades (whilst minimising or eliminating the impact dependent services) • Have demonstrable experience of High Availability components; Oracle Clusterware, Oracle RAC, Oracle Data Guard • Have demonstrable experience of PL/SQL and Advanced Queues. Nice to Haves • Have demonstrable experience of successfully and collaboratively working, coaching and sharing knowledge with Public Sector client teams. • Have demonstrable experience of Her Majesty's Passport Office business processes and data stores. • Have demonstrable experience of mapping source and target data models, identify gaps, data cleansing, schema modelling (Relational/XML/JSON). • Have existing, valid DV Clearance Work Location Westminster,Victoria Working Arrangments We expect the specialist to work collaboratively with project teams that are transforming Her Majesty’s Passport Office business/processes/applications. Work is based in London and will involve being on site 5 days per week. There may be an occasional need to attend our other offices in Central London (Petty France). No travel expenses will be paid for this purpose. Expenses for any exceptional travel authorised outside of Central London will fall under the Standard Government Terms and Conditions for Expenses as covered in the DOS Contract. Service design and development must align with HM Passport Office strategic technical architecture and technologies. Security Clearance DV (Developed Vetting) clearance is required Additional T&Cs Breakpoints to assess progress and quality will be set by mutual agreement. Evaluation Weighting Technical competence 60% Cultural fit 15% Price 25% Questions from Suppliers 1. Please could you advise the maximum day rate and IR35 status for this role. A maximum day rate has not been mentioned in the requirements as the price provided by a supplier will be evaluated according to the evaluation weighting specified in our requirements.We expect this engagement to be outside IR35; however status is assessed on a case-by-case basis. 2. 1.Regarding the DV clearance status, if the candidate does not hold active DV clearance and is willing to go through the process, can this be considered, if yes will you sponsor the security clearance? If the candidate does not have valid DV Clearance, Her Majesty’s Passport Office will sponsor and support the security process. 3. 2. Can you consider other security clearance ? Only DV clearance will be accepted. 4. 3.What is the lead time for feedback once the application is submitted? The vacancy closes on 20 October. We will aim to interview candidates and interview in the week commencing 31 October. The results would be sent to candidates in the intervening period.All dates are indicative and HM Passport Office reserves the right to amend as required. 5. 4.Will this role be within IR35? We expect this engagement to be outside IR35; however status is assessed on a case-by-case basis. 6. 5.Any chances of change in start date as the latest date mentioned is Wednesday 15 November 2017? The latest start date is 15 November 2017, which cannot be negotiated. 7. 6.What are the other expenses which will be paid? Expenses for any exceptional travel authorised outside of Central London will fall under the Standard Government Terms and Conditions for Expenses as covered in the DOS Contract. No other expenses will be paid. 8. 7.What are the exact work locations? Petty France, London 9. 1.Any specific format(pdf,doc) in which CVs to be sent later? PDF or Word Doc is acceptable 10. 2.Is occasional remote working allowed? Occasional remote working may be possible, and will need to be discussed and agreed with the manager when the candidate starts. 11. 3.Is there any travel involved in this role and will the travel expenses be paid ? There may be an occasional need to attend our other offices in Central London (Victoria/ Westminster). No travel expenses will be paid for this purpose. Expenses for any exceptional travel authorised outside of Central London will fall under the Standard Government Terms and Conditions for Expenses as covered in the DOS Contract. 12. 4. Is the rate inclusive or exclusive of VAT? The rate is exclusive of VAT 13. 5.Would you consider work permit holders (e.g. Tier 2 General Visa) and EU passport holders for this role ? HM Passport Office will not provide Visa sponsorship. The security clearance will require the individual to have been living continuously in the UK for five years. 14. Any chance you would accept an SC level candidate? Only DV clearance will be accepted.. 15. Will you support candidates who do not have DV clearance? If the candidate does not have valid DV Clearance, Her Majesty’s Passport Office will sponsor and support the security process. 16. Can you give us a steer on max daily rate? A maximum day rate has not been mentioned in the requirements as the price provided by a supplier will be evaluated according to the evaluation weighting specified in our requirements. 17. Could you please clarify the essential requirements in terms of Oracle RAC and understanding of Oracle high availability components? These do not seem to stack up against the stated job requirement to perform data mapping and data migration which do not require such knowledge. The project will deliver the data migration from Oracle to another data store. We therefore need a multi-skilled candidate that can manage Oracle High Availability, Oracle RAC, but is also a strong DBA. 18. Would you also accept Nato Secret security clearance? Only DV clearance will be accepted.
