Tender description

Norfolk and Suffolk County Councils wish to appoint a provider to manage services for adult victims of domestic abuse with no recourse to public funds, including advice and emergency short term accommodation. Norfolk and Suffolk County Councils have been awarded a £885248 grant by the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) from the Controlled Migration Fund. The funding is for a two year period and the majority of the funding is for assisting adult migrant victims of domestic abuse who are likely to have no recourse to public funds due to their immigration status in the UK. The service provided will be in three strands: 1. Multilingual community based (Independent Domestic Violence trained) advisers Recruit and train multilingual community domestic violence advisers to cover the following languages: — Polish — Russian — Lithuanian — Portuguese — Romanian — Bulgarian 2. Provide safe-house short term emergency accommodation Suitable property to be provided as safe, short-term accommodation for primarily female victims in order to provide short term respite. The women would spend time working with the community IDVA trained advisers to develop safety plans as well as with other specialist advisers to determine their rights and entitlements in the UK and to gather their evidence. 3. Options advice sessions A specialist advice service to enable victims to consider their options for remaining in the UK. They must receive advice around how to retain their free movement rights or establish/vary their rights to reside in the UK, if any housing support is available and what evidence they might need to prove an entitlement.
