Tender description

Met Éireann seeks to commission a Services Contract for the Provision of Services for the Review, Development and Trial of a Range of Hydrological Models and Integrator Systems for Use in Operational Fluvial Flood Forecasting in Ireland. Met Éireann seeks to commission a Services Contract for the ‘Provision of Services for the Review, Development and Trial of a Range of Hydrological Models and Integrator Systems for Use in Operational Fluvial Flood Forecasting in Ireland. The Contract shall involve a public call and comprehensive literature review of a number of hydrological models and integrator systems and shall recommend at least three such hydrological models and three integrator systems considered best suited for the purposes of operational flood forecasting in Ireland. Following the public call and literature review, each of the recommended hydrological models shall be used to build, calibrate, and validate catchment scale models for 5 representative catchments in Ireland. The validated catchment models will then be used in conjunction with the 3 recommended integrator systems, to conduct a number of specified forecasting trials. A comprehensive report should be provided that presents the full details of the development of the catchment models together with their respective performance statistics, and recommendations for the modelling and integrator software to be used for operational flood forecasting in Ireland.
