Concrete Repairs

Tender description

The Contract is for the provision of building Contractors to carry out concrete repair works to Blocks H & L, Coleraine Campus. The works will require specialist repairs to high level concrete areas. All buildings are occupied and therefore all noisy works will be required to be carried out, outside normal working hours (8.00am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday). It is proposed to carry out these works in two phases: Phase 1: Emergency Repair Works to be carried out between End of January and Mid-March 2018. Works are to include but not limited to the following: • The removal of any loose concrete material where it is spalling or delaminated by either mechanical methods or hydro demolition or a combination of the methods. • Concrete repairs and treatment of reinforcement to these areas to industry best standards • All works are to be undertaken by a specialist contractor experience in this field Phase 2: General concrete repairs and decoration to be carried out between June and September 2018. Works are to include but not limited to the following: • The removal of any defective concrete by either mechanical methods or hydro demolition or a combination of the methods. • Concrete repairs and treatment of reinforcement to these areas to industry best standards • Design and installation of cathodic protection within concrete repairs to prevent incipient anode effect. • Application of re-profiling mortar to any areas of poor construction including honeycombing and widespread blowholes • Application of an anti-carbonation coating to all exposed concrete surfaces • All works are to be undertaken by a specialist contractor experience in this field Above dates are provisional only.
