Aids & Adaptations 2017/18

Tender description

The works will be carried out at properties owned by Trivallis, situated in the geographical area of RCT (Rhondda, Cynon and Taff Valleys) The contractor will be required to undertake services comprising of providing adaptations as requested by task order to the agreed rates. Each and every works order will require a Construction Phase Plan is accordance with the CDM requirements 2015. Where the property is considered unsuitable for adaptation we will discuss all the housing options that are available with the tenant and Community Care to ensure that the specific needs of the tenant are taken into account in the decision making process The Physical Adaptations works will primarily focus on such items as: • Widening doors for wheelchair users • Installing ramps for easier access • Providing or improving access to rooms and facilities • Installing a stair lift and lifting equipment • Provision of a downstairs bathroom • Installation of level access showers • Improving or providing a heating system which is suitable for the resident’s needs • Adapting heating or lighting controls to make them easier to use • Aids to assist the visually impaired that support our RNIB Visibly better initiatives • Aids to assist the hard of hearing Adaptations do not include the following works: • The supply or installation of mobility scooter ramps or storage • Acoustic insulation, double glazing, central heating • Repairs outside of warranty: these are the responsibility of reactive maintenance • Like for like replacements: are the responsibility of planned maintenance
