Tender description

Specialist Structural load testing consultant to carry out load tests on section of an existing partly disused building internal floor plates in Dublin City Centre. The selected tenderer will have a proven track record in structural testing and will be independently accredited. Load test to be carried out to specification to be agreed with the local authorities structural engineer and to include five number tests on full bays of existing floor plate covering an area approximately 8M x 8M and 1 No. test to existing concrete stair flight. The purposes of the test is to determine the safe working capacity of the existing floor and to justify the loading created by an intended use. Brief will include the provision of all necessary temporary propping, installation of deflection and strain gauges and the logging of behaviour of the existing structure during test load application and release. The findings shall be compiled into a written report for presentation to the client. Tenders are invited to present proposals and suggested techniques which will be subject to the review of the client and engineer. Where load testing solutions involve the use of water to generate a loading, the water will be required to be imported by water tanker. A schematic drawing is available showing the intended testing locations. It is envisaged that some out of hours testing may be necessary.
