Further competition under ESPO 209 Framework for the security and stewarding of events and concerts, both outdoor and indoor, and of varying scales. The Council's Arts, Entertainments and Events arm, Derby LIVE, operate the Guildhall Theatre, broker major cultural activity for Derby Arena, and curate a broad programme of outdoor events ranging from small-scale activities in Derby's city centre to large-scale outdoor events attracting tens of thousands of people. Derby Arena hosts a number of sporting, conference, exhibitions and dinners. Security Industry Authority (SIA) licensed and non-licensed stewards are required across these programmes of events and entertainments. The contract will involve responsibilities such as: the management of large crowds, door security, immediate perimeter of outer buildings applying accreditation/access control systems, overnight guarding etc. The ability to deal with members of the public and difficult situations was an essential requirement. Further competition under ESPO 209 Framework — The Council needed to establish a contract with a Service Provider to work with Derby LIVE and Derby Arena, in conjunction with other partners such as Emergency Planning, the police and various community associations, to help achieve an enjoyable, safe experience for all members of the public through a high standard of security, to contribute to Derby City Councils commitment to continuous improvement through continually suggesting ways to develop the efficiency and cost effectiveness of the contract throughout its life.
