Tender description

The selected suppliers to DCC will have experience in delivering negotiated compensation claims under the Water Industry Act 1991 and be able to support DCC in the sale of any properties deemed surplus to requirements in addition to general estate management support. The 3 distinct areas of work captured under this requirement are as follows: 1. Land Agency securing access to private land for DCCs operations schemes and settling compensation under the Water Industry Act 1991 and other relevant legislation. 2. The disposal of surplus property on behalf of DCC by private treaty, auction or tender. 3. General Estates Management Services. DCWW, as the provider of water and waste water services throughout most of Wales, as well as parts of Herefordshire, Gloucestershire, Shropshire, Merseyside and Cheshire, carries out a number of pipe laying schemes connected with its operational requirements. These schemes generate the need for investigations, advice, negotiation and agreement of terms connected with claims for compensation due under the relevant legislation. The DCC Estates Services Division employs a team of chartered surveyors and other professional and administrative staff to deal with the process of complying with legislation, serving the appropriate notices, arranging entry to land and agreeing compensation. External land agents are required to support this function as required. The work will be split into the following lots within geographical areas. Lot 1 — North The counties of Gwynedd, Conwy, Anglesey, Denbighshire, Flintshire and Wrexham and parts of Cheshire, Merseyside and Shropshire. Lot 2 — South East To include the counties of Vale of Glamorgan, Cardiff, Rhondda Cynon Taff, Caerphilly, Merthyr Tydfil, Newport, Blaenau Gwent, Torfaen, Monmouthshire, Herefordshire and parts of Gloucestershire, Powys. Lot 3 — South West The counties of Bridgend, Neath Port Talbot, Swansea, Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion.
