Tender description

The Trust wishes to engage with the market to evaluate the options that are available for a digital pathology solution / system. The purpose of this engagement is to inform any subsequent approach to market. Please note that this Prior Information Notice forms no guarantee of any subsequent procurement and or expenditure. The Efficiency through Technology Fund Digital Cellular Pathology Programme Board is planning to hold a Supplier Engagement Event commencing at 9:30 on Monday 13.11.2017 at the Life Sciences Hub, Cardiff Bay. Registration to present is required prior to the event and all requests should be submitted to jane.long@wales.nhs.uk no later than midday on the 3.11.2017. After the successful national verification of 3 000 digital cellular pathology cases; against traditional glass slide methodology, using previously purchased digital equipment a mandate was received from Welsh Government to proceed with phase 2 of the Efficiency through Technology Fund Digital Cellular Pathology Programme — national implementation. The programme is therefore holding a supplier's presentation day which will be used to inform a specification which in turn will be used in the tender process for digital cellular pathology equipment. Procurement from the chosen supplier by a number of health boards will follow with subsequent reimbursement of agreed costs from the NHS Wales Health Collaborative holders of the programme budget.
