Tender description
To ensure the efficient operation of the new cargo terminal being delivered as part of the Dover Western Docks Revival project, the associated harbour crane capacity and capability needs to be improved. The Port of Dover are therefore looking to procure 2 (two) mobile harbour cranes for the Western Dock cargo terminal to suit the requirements as detailed within the tender documentation. This tender is for the design, supply, testing and commissioning of two harbour mobile cranes of proprietary manufacture to be used for the discharge and loading of containers, bulks and general cargo to and from vessels as specified within the procurement documents. All items supplied shall comply and be certified in accordance with all relevant EU and UK regulations. Below is a brief overview of the General Requirements and Operating Parameters (not exhaustive, see procurement documents): General Description — Harbour Mobile Cranes — Built on a rubber-tyred chassis capable of crab steering. — Provide automatic control of propping of the under-carriage integrated with lifting controls. — Capable of travelling with Auto Container Lifting Frame. — Have the capability of operating all functions of the crane from a remote-control unit. — 2 rope handling. — Have a permanent, safe means of maintenance access to the tower head for maintenance. Operating Parameters — Minimum lifting capacity of 120 tonnes under rotating hook at 18 metres radius. — Minimum lifting capacity of 41 tonnes under rotating hook and auto container lifting frame at 38 metres radius. — Minimum boom radius of 50 metres. — Minimum boom pivot point of 20 metres above quay level. — Minimum hoist speed in normal mode (41 tonnes) 120 metres per minute. — Capable of 360-degree slewing operation. — Minimum luffing speed of 54 metres per minute. — Gradient between stabiliser pads and over which the crane can travel 2 %. — Maximum outrigger load of 3030 KN with boom at 45-degrees. — Maximum outrigger load of 2555 KN with boom at 90-degrees. — Minimum working depth of 15 metres below the quayside under rotating hook.
