Tender description

DFID have now awarded a new programme of support to the SADC Water Sector under their Regional Strategic Action Plan IV on Integrated Water Resources Management (2016 — 2020). This has 2 components — a capacity building and information strengthening component primarily delivered by GIZ in close collaboration with the SADC Water Division, and a second phase of the Climate Resilient Infrastructure Development Facility (CRIDF). DFID has engaged in Transboundary Water Management and Development in Southern Africa since 2008 and scaled that support up in 2012. The objectives of the previous phase of support were to: 1. Establish and strengthen River Basin Organisations (RBOs) and other regional institutions with a mandate to manage shared water resources; 2. Improve the collection, sharing and dissemination of hydrological data (e.g. on flood risk or water quality) 3. Plan, design, mobilise finance for, and build small-scale and strategic water infrastructure. DFID's is to appoint a Service Provider to manage a component of DFID Southern Africa's support to Transboundary Water Resource Management in Southern Africa — the Climate Resilient Infrastructure Development Facility Phase 2 (CRIDF II). The Service Provider will: Take responsibility for the overall programme and financial management of CRIDF II, including the accurate pricing and budgeting of selected projects and activities.
