Configuration of a 4WD Crew cab mountain rescue first response vehicle

The Glen of Imaal – Wicklow - Irish Red Cross - Mountain Rescue Team (abbreviation: GoIMRT) is currently seeking to configure & fitout one new 4WD Double Cab pickup vehicle – into a purpose-built mountain rescue response vehicle, to support and enhance operations of the team throughout the county. The team has recently been awarded CLÁR grant funding aid enabling the purchase & development of one (1) such vehicle. The scope of this document is to outline the minimum configuration requirements of this vehicle.The vehicle must be suitable for the following purpose: - (a) The vehicle must have on/off road capabilities to transport personnel and equipment over harsh terrain if the type of mountain rescue response incident requires. As a result, 4WD and high ground clearance are essential. (b) The vehicle will be used to transport team members and equipment to Mountain Rescue Incidents, training exercises and other team operations &events. (c) The Vehicle may be used on occasion to tow a Trailer. It should be noted that the vehicle should have the capabilities to respond to the aforementioned emergency situations, as well as other incidents that may occur. The vehicle as configured must be suitable for on/off road operations, and have 4-wheel drive capabilities in order to manoeuvre over rough terrain. The basic 4-wheel drive vehicle will be a standard production model for which spares and mechanical servicing facilities (meeting warranty conditions) are readily available.The vehicle is intended for off-road use and therefore must meet or exceed its procurement Manoeuvrability & Off-Road Capability specifications. The configuration & fit-out of the following items should be quoted for separately in the attached schedules for inclusion in the vehicle: see Specification document attached.
