4WD Crew Cab mountain rescue first response vehicle

Tender description

The Glen of Imaal – Wicklow - Irish Red Cross - Mountain Rescue Team (abbreviation: GoIMRT) is currently seeking to purchase one (1) 4WD Double Cab pickup vehicle - suitable for a custom configuration into purpose-built mountain rescue response vehicle, to support and enhance operations of the team throughout the county. The Team has recently been awarded CLÁR grant funding aid enabling the purchase & development of one (1) such vehicle. The scope of this document is to outline the minimum requirements of this vehicle. The configuration / fit-out of the vehicle procured under this tender contract will be the subject of a separate tender contract – see ‘GoIMRT Specification Contract for the Configuration of a Crew Cab 4WD Mountain Rescue Response Vehicle’. The vehicle must be suitable for the following purpose: - (a) The vehicle must have on/off road capabilities to transport personnel and equipment over harsh terrain if the type of mountain rescue response incident requires. As a result, 4WD and high ground clearance are essential. (b) The vehicle will be used to transport team members and equipment to Mountain Rescue Incidents, training exercises and other team operations and events. (c) The Vehicle may be used on occasion to tow a Trailer. (d) The fitting out / configuration of this vehicle will be the subject of a separate tender specification It should be noted that the vehicle should have the capabilities to respond to the aforementioned emergency situations, as well as other incidents that may occur.
